Faircote Hall, Chuck Hatch

20th October, 2002

Hounds met at by kind invitation of Mr and Mrs B Van den Praagh. It was an overcast day with little wind. Field master for the day was Nigel Dean, and the quarry were Robbie, Adrian and Pierce (Quarry Captain) along with Adam Nicholson from the Daily Telegraph whose article caused a lot of amusement the following Tuesday. The first hunt was round Faircote Hall, past Pooh Bridge and the quarry were taken by Pooh car park.

The second hunt was laid on above Hart's Farm. Dropping down past the farm, hounds streamed along the valley at top speed, giving the field a chance to gallop on at the hedges, up and over the hill through the woods before taking their quarry by the road.

The third hunt started through the woods and onto the Stenhouse's farm. Here the hounds were in top form taking the field over the best hedges circling round the farm and fording the river before taking their quarry in an extremely muddy pond.

An excellent day's hunting was capped by a delicious tea at Faircote Hall.
